Step-by-Step Infusion Guide

Preparation

  1. Decarboxylate cannabis first (see our decarb guide)
  2. Gather materials:
    • Double-boiler or slow cooker
    • Thermometer
    • Cheesecloth
    • Storage container
  3. Choose your ratio from chart above

Double-Boiler Method (recommended)

  1. Fill bottom pot with water
  2. Place butter/oil in top pot
  3. Heat to 160-180°F (71-82°C)
  4. Add decarbed cannabis
  5. Maintain temperature, stir occasionally
  6. Infuse 2-3 hours (longer for stronger)
  7. Strain through cheesecloth

Slow Cooker Method

  1. Set to LOW (check temp reaches ~160-180°F)
  2. Add butter/oil and cannabis
  3. Cover and cook 4-6 hours
  4. Stir occasionally
  5. Strain through cheesecloth

Mason Jar Method (minimal smell)

  1. Place ingredients in oven-safe mason jar
  2. Put jar in water bath (slow cooker or pot)
